After govt ban, Google temporarily blocks access to 59 apps in India

However, the spokesperson did not disclose details of the apps that Google had blocked

Current Affairs : Google on Thursday said it has incidentally blocked access to those applications that were as yet accessible on the Play Store in India much after the legislature prohibited on 59 applications this week.

“While we keep on looking into the between time orders from the Government of India, we have told the influenced designers and have incidentally blocked access to the applications that stayed accessible on the Play Store in India,” a Google representative said.

Notwithstanding, the representative didn’t reveal subtleties of the applications that Google had blocked.

As indicated by sources, engineers of a large number of the 59 restricted applications had brought down their applications from Google Play Store intentionally.

India on Monday prohibited 59 applications with Chinese connections, including TikTok, UC Browser, SHAREit and WeChat, saying they were biased to power, uprightness and security of the nation.
