ITBP inks deal with KVIC to procure ‘swadeshi’ items for CAPF personnel

The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Friday inked a deal with the KVIC to procure a variety of ‘swadeshi’ and ‘khadi’ goods for around 10 lakh personnel of the Central Armed Police Forces.

Current Affairs : The Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP) on Friday inked an arrangement with the KVIC to get an assortment of ‘swadeshi’ and ‘khadi’ merchandise for around 10 lakh staff of the Central Armed Police Forces.

The power will secure 1,200 quintals of mustard oil from the Khadi and Village Industries Commission (KVIC) with “an all out monetary ramifications of over Rs 1.73 crore”, an ITBP representative said.

“A Memorandum of Understanding was marked between the different sides on Friday. The point is to progressively get ‘swadeshi’ or indigenously made items,” he said.

The MoU was marked by KVIC Chairman Vinai Kumar Saxena and authorities of the ITBP obtainment wing in Delhi.

The ITBP, a mountain-fighting prepared power for guarding the 3,488-km-yearns Line of Actual Control (LAC) with China, is the first among the paramilitary or CAPFs to ink such an arrangement. The other Central Armed Police Forces are the CRPF, CISF, BSF and the SSB.

Home Minister Amit Shah had proclaimed scarcely any months back that the CAPF containers will just sell ‘swadeshi’ or indigenous items from June.
