Current Affairs:India and the United States on Wednesday reaffirmed their responsibility to cooperate to keep the multiplication of weapons of mass obliteration and their conveyance frameworks and to deny access to such weapons by psychological militants and non-state on-screen characters.
The assention was come to amid the ninth round of the India-US Strategic Security Dialog held here. The Indian assignment was driven by Foreign Secretary Vijay Gokhale, while the US appointment was driven by Andrea Thompson, Under Secretary of State for Arms Control and International Security.
“The opposite sides traded sees on a wide scope of worldwide security and non-expansion challenges and reaffirmed their pledge to cooperate to keep the multiplication of weapons of mass decimation and their conveyance frameworks and to deny access to such weapons by psychological oppressors and non-state on-screen characters,” as per an announcement by the External Affairs Ministry.
The US additionally reaffirmed its solid help of India’s initial participation in the Nuclear Suppliers Group.
“They resolved to fortify reciprocal security and common atomic collaboration, including the foundation of six US atomic power plants in India,” the MEA said.
