A trekking expedition to Khalubar was undertaken by the 1st Battalion of the 11 Gurkha Rifles

Current Affairs:-The twentieth commemoration of the Kargil War was praised in a great way by the Indian Army with a dedicatory trek to Khalubar.
Armed force said that the year 2019 observers the twentieth commemoration of the Kargil War and this significant achievement was commended in a terrific way by the Indian Army so as to revive the pride and valor of all the courageous troopers who partook in Operation Vijay.
One of the severest fights battled during the Kargil War was the Battle of Khalubar in the Batalik Sector. In spite of the cruel territory, the valiant fighters of 1/11 Gorkha Rifles were effective in driving the foe to oust from his positions along these lines contributing a triumph which will be recalled till times to come.
The legion was granted the Battle Honor “Batalik” and Theater Honor “Kargil” and courage grants to incorporate one Param Vir Chakra and three Vir Chakras.
To recognize this triumph as a feature of the twentieth commemoration of Operation Vijay, a trekking endeavor to Khalubar was embraced by the first Battalion of the 11 Gurkha Rifles. The goal of the trek was to praise the triumph of the Battalion as likewise to pay respect to the courageous ‘Kirantis’.
Subsequent to accepting into Leh, the group finished its obligatory acclimatization and vital arrangements by July 5.
A quality of two Junior appointed Officers and eight Other Ranks took an interest in this trek which was hailed off on July 8. The group secured a separation of around 10 kilometers before summiting Khalubar.
During their adventure, the group navigated through the brutal cold landscape at elevations shifting from 9000 feet to 17000 feet.
