Singh was nominated by the Congress while the BJP did not field any candidate for the bypoll

Current Affairs:-Previous executive Manmohan Singh was chosen unopposed for the Rajya Sabha from Rajasthan on Monday.
He was pronounced chosen unopposed as the due date for the withdrawal of selections for the bypoll finished at 3 pm.
Boss Minister Ashok Gehlot saluted Singh on his decision to the Upper House of Parliament.
“Salute previous PM Dr #ManmohanSingh ji on being chosen unopposed as an individual from #RajyaSabha from #Rajasthan. Dr Singh’s decision involves pride for the whole state. His immense learning and rich experience would profit the individuals of Rajasthan a great deal,” he tweeted.
Returning Officer and Assembly Secretary Pramil Kumar Mathur made the declaration.
The administration’s central whip, Mahesh Joshi, got the race declaration for Singh.
The previous PM was selected by the Congress while the BJP did not handle any contender for the bypoll, required because of the demise of Rajya Sabha MP Madan Lal Saini.
The previous PM had recorded the designation papers on August 13.
Singh was an individual from the Upper House of Parliament from Assam for just about three decades.
He was a Rajya Sabha part for five back to back terms from 1991 to 2019 and the nation’s head administrator for two successive terms somewhere in the range of 2004 and 2014.
His residency in the Rajya Sabha finished on June 14 this year and he couldn’t be renominated as the Congress gathering did not have the solidarity to send him to the Upper House from Assam again and there was no other opening left.
Rajasthan has 10 Rajya Sabha seats.
Staying nine seats of Rajya Sabha from the state are with the BJP.
