Current Affairs News:The same number of as 2.62 lakh occurrences of backwoods fire have been accounted for from 2016-18, the Ministry of Environment said on Monday.
In light of an inquiry in the Rajya Sabha, Minister of State for Environment, Forest and Climate Change Babul Supriyo displayed information, as per which 1,17,402 backwoods fires were recorded in 2018, while 1,07,704 cases were accounted for in 2017 and 37,636 occurrences in 2016.
In 2018 and 2017, the most noteworthy number of backwoods fires were accounted for in Odisha at 31,680 and 36,827, separately, the information appeared.
In 2016, the most elevated number of episodes were recorded in Andhra Pradesh at 8,885.
