Sedition case against Chudawala in Mumbai for ‘anti-national’ slogans

Current Affairs:Dissident Urvashi Chudawala was on Monday reserved for dissidence by the Mumbai Police for supposedly raising “against national” trademarks on the side of JNU understudy Sharjeel Imam at a LGBTQ occasion held at the Azad Maidan here a week ago, an official said.

“We have enrolled a FIR against Chudawala and 50 others. We will call them to (Azad Maidan) police headquarters for additional examination,” he said.

The case was enrolled by the Azad Maidan police after a video purportedly of Chudawala raising the mottos circulated around the web after the LGBTQ occasion on February 1.

A police official said Chudawala was at the front line in raising the motto ‘Sharjeel Tere Sapno ko Hum Manzil Tak Pahuchaege” (Sharjeel, We will understand your fantasies).

A protest right now stopped by previous BJP MP Kirit Somaiya on February 2, he said.

Tweeting the video of a lady raising the trademarks at the occasion, Somaiya had cautioned of organizing a dissent if the police neglected to enroll the body of evidence against Chudawala and others.
