By-election to over 12,500 panchayat seats in Jammu and Kashmir was scheduled to be held in eight phases from March 5

Current Affairs:The bypolls to panchayats booked from March 5 in Jammu and Kashmir has been delayed because of security reasons, J&K Chief Electoral Officer (CEO) Shailendra Kumar said on Tuesday.
By-political decision to more than 12,500 panchayat situates in Jammu and Kashmir was booked to be held in eight stages from March 5.
“The bypolls to panchayats has been deferred for three weeks because of security reasons,” Kumar revealed to PTI today around evening time.
He said this progression was taken after data sources given to him by the home division over security issues.
The eight-stage survey was prior planned to be held from March 5 to March 20 on a gathering premise. The surveying was scheduled for March 5, March 7, March 9, March 12, March 14, March 16, March 18 and March 20.
The Model Code of Conduct came into power with the declaration of the bypolls on Thursday. The CEO has just given two notices for the first and the second period of eight-stage by-political race.
Panchayat decisions were last held in 2018 and were boycotted by the PDP and the NC. Chief Kumar prior on Tuesday held a gathering with all gatherings on the bypolls, in the midst of analysis by the standard ideological groups about the ceaseless confinement of their pioneers and inability to permit them to lead political exercises.
