Clashes break out between police and anti-CAA protesters in Aligarh

With dissidents enjoying vandalisation of property and tossing stones at security work force in upper Kot region under Kotwali police headquarters zone, the police discharged teargas shells to scatter the crowd, said Aligarh District Magistrate Chandra Bhushan Singh.

Following the brutality, the adminstration additionally suspended internet providers in the city till 12 PM today as a prudent step, Singh included.

Delegate Inspector General of Police (Aligarh go) Preetinder Singh, in the mean time, disclosed to PTI that police have additionally kept a few people after the savagery.

The dissenters have been removed from their “dharna” site, he included.

Aligarh DM Singh said the savagery broke out at a spot on the Mohamed Ali Road prompting the Kotwali police headquarters where a few ladies protestors were holding a dharna since Saturday with the police attempting to expel dissenters from that point.

The difficulty started around 5 pm when the police attempted to convince ladies protestors at Upper Kot close Kotwali to remove them from the street, he said.

“We revealed to them that ladies protestors were at that point holding a dharna at Eidgah and they would not be allowed to hold another such dissent close Kotwali,” said Singh.
