Current Affairs:The administration is teaming up with the Iranian specialists to set up a screening procedure for the arrival of Indians stranded in Iran in the wake of the coronavirus flare-up, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar said on Sunday.
Jaishankar’s confirmation came after interests from a few quarters, including Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and senior Congress pioneer Shashi Tharoor for the administration’s intercession over the issue of stranded Indians there.
“Taking a shot at the issue of Indians in Iran restless to return due to COVID19. Have seen numerous tweets right now. We are teaming up with the Iranian specialists to set up a screening procedure for return of Indians,” Jaishankar said in a tweet.
“Am asking our Ambassador Gaddam Dharmendra to keep every one of those concerned refreshed of the advancement. Am additionally following this by and by,” Jaishankar said in the tweet, labeling the Kerala CM office, Office of Tamil Nadu Chief Minister E K Palaniswami, Tharoor, NCP pioneer Supriya Sule and MoS MEA V Muraleedharan .
Prior, Muraleedharan had said the administration has gotten reports of Indians incorporating anglers adhered in Iran due to the coronavirus flare-up and the international safe haven in Tehran is in contact with nearby experts on the issue.
Indian agent to Iran Gaddam Dharmendra had on Saturday said the specialists are attempting to encourage the arrival of Indians who wish to return home and conversations were in progress with specialists.
