Chhattisgarh Police use app to keep an eye on home quarantined people

Nearly 6,200 people, most of them with history of travel to foreign nations or other affected states in India, are being kept under home quarantine in Janjgir-Champa district.

Current Affairs : In an offer to contain the spread of coronavirus, police in Chhattisgarh’s Janjgir-Champa region have made a portable application to monitor those disregarding the home isolate request, an authority said.

Almost 6,200 individuals, the vast majority of them with a background marked by movement to remote countries or other influenced states in India, are being held under home isolate in Janjgir-Champa area.

“With an enormous number of individuals in home isolate, it is beyond the realm of imagination to expect to hold every one under observation all the time. Thus, we chose to utilize the computerized system to handle the issue,” Janjgir-Champa Superintendent of Police Parul Mathur told PTI on Tuesday.

The police, with the assistance of Noida-based startup Mobcoder, built up the application ‘Rakhsa Sarv’, which empowers them to follow the isolated individuals through Google Map. Subtleties of the home-isolated individuals are being taken care of in the application’s dashboard, Mathur said.

Police groups have begun introducing the application in the telephones of those held under home isolate thus far, more than 50 percent of such individuals have been secured, she said.

“The isolated individual should transfer a selfie in the application consistently which will indicate his/her area.
