Health Minister Harsh Vardhan takes charge as WHO Executive Board chairman

The main functions of the Board are to implement the decisions and policies of the Health Assembly and facilitate its work

Current Affairs : Association Health Minister Dr Harsh Vardhan on Friday assumed responsibility as administrator of the World Health Organization (WHO) Executive Board.

The Executive Board includes 34 in fact qualified individuals chose for three-year terms. The director’s post is held by turn for one year among local gatherings.

The primary elements of the Board are to actualize the choices and arrangements of the Health Assembly and encourage its work.
