The clarification came after Trump said that he spoke to Modi over India’s ongoing border row with China in Eastern Ladakh
Current Affairs : There has been no ongoing contact between Prime Minister Narendra Modi and US President Donald Trump, government sources said on Friday.
The explanation came after Trump said that he addressed Modi over India’s continuous fringe line with China in Eastern Ladakh. On Tuesday, Trump even offered to intercede among India and China to determine the outskirt debate.
“The last discussion between PM Modi and Donald Trump was on April 4 regarding the matter of hydroxychloroquine,” a source said. This is in logical inconsistency with the US President’s case that “PM Modi not feeling great” over Ladakh issue.
On Thursday, the Ministry of External Affairs clarified that India is legitimately in contact with the Chinese side through set up components and political contacts to determine the line.
