Centre seeks suggestions from stakeholders on deferring BS-IV norms

The norms were scheduled to be implemented from October 1.

Current Affairs : The Ministry of Road Transport and Highways on Tuesday welcomed proposals from partners to concede execution of BS-IV standards for development hardware vehicles taking into account the Covid-19 pandemic. The standards were booked to be executed from October 1.

The service has given a warning on the solicitation of the agribusiness service and development gear creators in regards to postponement of BS (CEV/TREM)- IV discharge standards, which relate to development hardware vehicles, tractors, and collectors, for a year, welcoming recommendations from partners. The proposals or remarks can be sent to the joint secretary of the street transport and interstates service.

Bharat Stage (BS) outflow standards will be guidelines established by the administration to direct yield of air toxins from engine vehicles. The BS-IV standards have been upheld the nation over since April 2017.
