Xiaomi puts ‘Made in India’ banners to cover branding at stores

AIMRA had written to Chinese mobile brands to highlight the threat of vandalism at offline stores by people amid calls for boycotting Chinese products in certain sections

Current Affairs : Chinese handset producer Xiaomi has started covering its retail location marking with ‘Made in India’ logo in white shading in the midst of fears of vandalism at outlets in the background of the Sino-India fringe pressure, the All India Mobile Retailers Association (AIMRA) said.

The affiliation had kept in touch with Chinese portable brands to feature the danger of vandalism at disconnected stores by individuals in the midst of calls for boycotting Chinese items in specific areas.

“In our letter, we had mentioned the brands to permit retailers to cover these signages with material/flex or to expel the sheets from the customer facing facade for a couple of months given the circumstance… Xiaomi has begun putting ‘Made in India’ pennants in white shading on its sheets,” AIMRA National President Arvinder Khurana said. He included that different organizations are yet to make any such strides yet are keeping a watch on the circumstance.

Xiaomi didn’t react to a messaged inquiry.

Khurana said some enemy of social activists as of late visited a few markets in different pieces of the nation and took steps to harm the cell phone stores, and requested that they expel Chinese marking from their outlets.

“This could be a danger to the security of retailers on the off chance that the animosity increments. Harm to the sheets showing Chinese marking ought not be the retailer’s risk,” he said.
