Chandni Chowk to be non-motorized zone from 9 am to 9 pm from November

Current Affairs : The repaired region of Chandni Chowk will be available to the general population from the principal seven day stretch of November as a non-mechanized zone during the day, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal who visited the territory here on Thursday, said.

A 1.3 km stretch has been under redevelopment since December 2018.

The underlying cutoff time for the Chandni Chowk pedestrianization and beautification venture was March 21, 2020 however later it was reached out till May. Presently the Delhi Chief Minister has reported that the region will be opened to general society in November. This region will be proclaimed a non-mechanized zone from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. The spending plan for the entire task is around Rs 90 crore.

While reviewing the territory with PWD serve Satyendar Jain, Kejriwal stated, “The zone of Chandni Chowk is an authentic spot, we will reestablish its old wonder by and by. We expect that more vacationers will visit this territory after redevelopment”.
