Railways increases lower berth quota for senior citizens, women passengers

SENIORCITIZENSDAY:-Railroads has improved the joined reservation quantity of lower compartments for senior residents and female travelers in mail, express trains and in Rajdhani and Duronto trains, an official request said Thursday.

At present 12 lower compartments are reserved in sleeper, AC-3 level and AC-2 level classes for senior residents, female travelers – 45 years old or more – and pregnant ladies.

In Rajdhani, Duronto and other completely cooled express trains, the share of saved seats is seven.

“The issue has been evaluated and it has been chosen that the joined reservation share of lower births reserved for senior natives, female travelers 45 years old or more and pregnant ladies might be upgraded,” the request by the railroad board said.

For mail express trains having single mentor of the assigned class, the board changed the amount and improved it to 13 situates, the board said.

While in trains with more than one mentor, the quantity of saved lower compartments will be 15, it included.

In Rajdhani, Duronto and other AC prepares, the quantity of seats reserved for this class will be nine, it said further.
