Current Affairs : Hearing an appeal looking for heading to the Center to revise the Constitution and change the name of the nation from India to Bharat, Chief Justice of India S A Bobde told the applicant on Wednesday that India is as of now called Bharat in the Constitution. A seat headed by the CJI and involving Justices A S Bopanna and Hrishikesh Roy asked the candidate’s guidance, “Why have you come here? To which, the CJI answered, “We can’t do that.”

He emphasized that India is now called Bharat in the Constitution. Vaish contended that the English name India didn’t speak to the way of life and convention of the nation; rather, its beginning is Greek, and it is gotten from the word ‘Indica’.

Vaish said that generally there are numerous models where ‘Bharat Mata ki Jai’ was utilized, and encouraged the top court to permit him to make a portrayal before the suitable services. The top court said that this specific appeal be treated as a portrayal by the Center.
